Working on the library, rummaging through boxes I haven't opened in a while and came across my copy of Digital Techniques for Computation and Control published in ... 1958.  On the good side it contains an in-depth discussion of the benefits and trade-offs of core versus drum memories.  On the bad side it contains an in-depth discussion of the benefits and trade-offs of core versus drum memories.

"Why do I keep this stuff," he asked.

I suppose because it tells me how to construct a blocking oscillator or a Miller Integrator using a 6C4 tube.  And who knows when THAT will become necessary or useful?

So up on the shelf it goes.

(I'm insane.  Lock me up.)
