My chili plant finally bore fruit.  The plant is full of green ones now.  This red chili went into a baked chicken dish that I experimented with and very nice it was too.

Beautiful pepper plant. Do you know the variety?

No idea, my friend grew them from seed and then handed one of the plants over to me. I almost gave up on it and then it suddenly started to flower all over.  The chili peppers are fairly hot.

There are so many that look alike, but a friend gave me seeds for ones that looked like yours.  He called them "Peter Peppers"and here. Except, like the ones in these links they were often malformed. Oops, I've just discovered the source of their name!  Anyway, they were pretty hot and the plants prolific producers with beautiful waxy leaves. One year I canned 10 pint jars from just three or four plants.  Maybe yours are just cayennes after all.

I only have one slightly 'malformed' pepper on my plant.  It is fairly busy with peppers but I don't reckon it is as prolific as yours, nor are the leaves waxy.  Probably just cayennes or something easily available from the supermarkets here since that is how my friend came across her seeds.
