It's only really Boxing Day in UK. Is it anything special elsewhere ?

Well, here it is a holiday also, but it is called "Stephanstag".

Spend quite a bit of time today installing the Photoshop software Santa brought me and starting to organize my pictures.  I have the impression it is time consuming but fun. :-)

St. Stephen's Day here. Traditionally spent lolling around recovering from Christmas Day.

Nothing special officially.

Watching Pittsburgh Uni vs North Carolina today.  Coworker of mine went to Pitt, and she got all high and mighty about them and the indignity of playing UNC when they were close to playing the the Florida Gators.

I assured her Florida would've massacred them, and that UNC would likely be a good game, and I'm hoping UNC's very good defense leads them to a win, which would be delicious.

Zweitenweinachstag hier.  Still digesting the visit from Berlin, which sets a new adventure afoot.  But mostly i'm thinking about poor Fran, who has new software to organize and change photos, which is to my limited understanding, unending.

And me still thinking last night's thread is full of wonder, from so many directions, where ET excells.

LOL, CH - you know as you left out the h in Zweitenweinachstag I read it as Wein insteadt of Weih. So the whole word would mean approx. second day of wine nights :-) - sometime Freudian slips of the fingers can tell a story, or just the crazyness of my mind.

Well, I do not know yet if it is poor Fran, as the software is new and interessting and challenging.

Leaving out the weihnachts H was unintentional, but when my editors discovered it they refused to allow me to change it, and i was forced to enhjoy the 3rd botthle with them.

Well, as Weihe means to sanctify or consecrate, and as far as I know the catholic churche does that with wine, I guess a third bottle is okay. :-)

Tapaninpäiva is Steven's Day (Tapani = Stephen). The Day of Löhö or as Colman would have it - lolling. Shops are shut, everyone is inside, outside grey and boring.

Schenectady, specifically Rotterdam.  Went to Mohonasen High School, B.S. from Union College before I moved to CA.

16 miles southeast of Buffalo. We arrived in 1959, I graduated in 1962 and went straight into the USAF. After active service, I worked for several tree 'surgeon' outfits during Summers, then for the South Buffalo Railway in 1966.

Went back on a northeastern sentimental journey in 1971, met my wife, had two children, finally escaped with my family in 1979 - straight to the Pacific NW, which is where I was headed in 1971, before my distraction. Mirta and I lived on the westside of Buffalo, then out to a farm in Springville, then back to the westside.

Lots of good memories, little desire to go back. But two friends of mine and I had a wonderful bike trip along the Erie Canal in early October, 2008.
