Please do note that the Faux News anchors propaganda artists are playing the standard game of only counting income tax, not payroll taxes. It is simply not true that the bottom 50 % of the income distribution pay no taxes at all to the federal government in the US, although that is certainly what they wish to imply. (In point of fact, I think they wish to imply that the bottom half of the US income distribution pays no tax at all - conveniently excluding not only payroll tax, but also state-side taxes like VAT.)
