Minor Earthquake Rattles South Wales: Ipicentre Six Miles From Port Talbot | UK News | Sky News

The British Geological Survey (BGS) later confirmed there had been a quake with a magnitude of three on the Richter scale.

It said the epicentre was just over six miles north east of Port Talbot.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "Members of the public from the Wild Mill and Sarn area of Bridgend reported feeling a tremor."

She added: "There were no reports of damage or injuries."

The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they were informed about the earthquake by police but were not called out to assist any residents.

Cleaner Michelle Thomas said it was not the first earthquake the area has had this month.

The 36-year-old from Bryncethin, Bridgend, claims to have felt two other quakes earlier this month.

40 minutes from me. I didn't notice anything.

Lottery Winner Neal Wanless: US Rancher Scoops One Of The Biggest Jackpots In US History | World News | Sky News

Neal Wanless from the aptly named town of Winner landed US$232m - just short of £143m - on Friday.

The single 23-year-old lives with his mother and father on the family's 320-acre ranch near Mission, where they raise cattle, sheep and horses.

They don't own a phone and a mobile home of theirs was repossessed last year, and records show they have fallen US$3,552 (£2,183) behind in their property taxes.

Mr Wanless bought US$15 worth of tickets to the May 27 Powerball draw, which covers 30 US states, at a convenience store in Winner during a trip to buy livestock feed.

He said he intended to use the money to buy himself a bigger house and repay the kindness other townspeople had shown to his family over the years.

Tiller suspect says he's 'being treated as a criminal'

Wichita, Kan. -- The man accused of killing Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller said Thursday from the county jail that he's "being treated as a criminal" even though he hasn't been convicted.

In a brief telephone conversation with the Associated Press, Scott Roeder also disputed what he called "broad-brush" characterizations of him as anti-government.

"I want people to stop and think. It is not anti-government, it is anti-corrupt government," said Roeder, who called from the Sedgwick County Jail in response to a written request for an interview.

Roeder, 51, of Merriam, Kan., has been charged with first-degree murder in Sunday's shooting of the late-term abortion provider at a Wichita church. Roeder, who also is accused of assaulting two witnesses, was arrested a few hours later.

As the Dutch said while fighting the Spanish: "It is not necessary to have hope in order to persevere."

Yeah, stop calling us gutless murderers criminals, damn you!  LOL!

In the end, might makes right. Nothing has changed since the caveman.
