Are the arches wind carved then used as a religious site?
Fantastic light composition.

From what I remember it's all hand carved

It's hand carved. Most of the site has rooms that are more or less rectangular. The rest of the pics from Cappadocia are in here, I think 4 or 5 are from the same site.

If I can make a possible gift suggestion, especially for a distant relative who gave you a crappy gift in the past.
Make this into a jigsaw puzzle, you know, the 1000 piece puzzle.
Your image is visually confusing, but in a most definitely good way.

Yes, afew, since Monday. Too early and too long. I know the Midi it's been hit very hard too. In Barcelona they've reached the fourth highest temperature in more than 100 years, 34 degrees Celsius.

Yes, we've been up to those temperatures too, and no relief at night.

Storms and rain forecast for all day tomorrow, at least on this side of the Pyrenees.

So that's what they're called - there's a lot of those around here and, when I was a kid, we called them stink bushes.  They don't have the nicest smell.

Admiring the level of detail you are able to achieve.  Engaging photos.

jjellin,
Thank you very much.
I have to say though, that anybody can do this.
I`m especially fond of your descriptive "engaging".
That`s quite the compliment.
As you may have noticed, my photos are almost always a "one on one"
viewer`s take, me being the viewer.
That I can share them is fantastic.
That you think them engaging , is even more so.
Also, when I say anybody can do this, these are all taken with a little "point & shoot".
Throughout the age of photography, it`s never been about the "eye" of the camera, but of the eye of the photographer.
I always use Ansel Adams as an example of this.
Many people strive for the latest expensive large bodied SLR cameras, yet Ansel Adams had a plywood box one.
He packed his darkroom on a mule & went out to shoot his amazing photos for months at a time in the wilds.
I`m also not, in any way, ever comparing myself to him.

The difference between theists and atheists is that the atheists don't set the theists on fire for refusing to agree with them.

I now have a new mission.
