And then there's the headache of dealing with a million people trying to get home on the Metro.  L'Enfant Plaza, where I'd be getting on in the District, is pretty busy during off-peak hours, mobbed during peak hours, and Hell on Earth when any kind of event is going on.  It took half an hour to get a train -- and when I got one, I was pinned into about six inches of space by a bazillion freaks in Friar Tuck outfits -- when the idiot Pope put on his little show at the stadium last year, and the fireworks are probably more popular than the Pope.

So I'm thinking teevee is the way to go.  Normally I go up to Iwo Jima, which has a really great view, with my aunt and uncle, but they're not around this year.
