Just arrived in MXP from New York. Before landing, they handed out a new form to fill in, asking questions such as do you have a fever or a cough. But they didn't tell us what to do with the form on arrival...

I handed mine to the guy at passport control, who gave me a look that said "what am I supposed to do with this?". I assumed that they would be collected at customs, but nobody stopped me when I went through the green line (no fever to declare?). So now I have a filled-in copy of the form at home - I doubt this will be particularly effective against the flu.

If I were you I'd be happy the flight steward had not handed me the NEW! Tamiflu® Inflight magazine with bill of sale tipped between pages--

We had to do this when I landed at Barajas in mid-June. Except the policy was brand-new and the Iberia crew had no foreknowledge of it. The plane was met at the terminal by some functionary with a stack of forms and they told the crew that if every passenger didn't fill it out, we couldn't deboard. So with everyone already standing in the aisles with their luggage waiting to go, they passed them around.

It was a silly form. When asked where in Spain I was staying I wrote "We're just passing through on our way to Portugal" - I was tempted to add "so don't worry about my cough" but was already worried about catching the connection to Lisboa.

We handed them to an Iberia crew member when we got off the plane, who looked like she was just going to drop them on some desk somewhere. Seemed a mostly pointless exercise.

And the world will live as one

Hmmh, was in Barajas in mid/late June, plus flew into DC and NYC yesterday, no flu related things. The Genevans seem to have taken security theater to a new level - do you really need to check people's passports five times before they get on the plane?
