Turlough Hill is a mountain top power generation reservoir near my home - linked by tunnel to a lower lake.  I know the manager and have been meaning to talk to him to write a blog.  Perhaps there are some metrics he can provide for pump station capacities based on water volume, differential elevation, and distance etc.  From memory the process is only about 70% efficient - but it is a relatively old installation.  I could arrange a visit if ever have a meet-up in Ireland...
