Raphael (Rafi77630) was admitted today to Normal-Sup Lyon. I'm not French but I think it's a "big deal."
Maybe I'l be seeing Melanchthon more often than once a year.

The French call it one of the "Grande Ecoles" to which students apply after two years of preparatory school after secondary school.Normal Sup (there are three, Paris Cachan and Lyon) prepares its students for high level teaching and research. The one in Paris is the highest rated and is very very difficult to be admitted to. Cachan and Lyon are a bit less difficult to enter.This is all done by competitive exams.

Congratulations! Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon) is a top-level, very selective grande école. By the way, it is located not very far from where I live. I am glad we will have more opportunities to meet, LEP! And if Raphaël needs help, let me know.

And yes, Helen, close to the ENS, there is a micro-brewery/pub/restaurant which hosts rock concerts: the Ninkasi
