I read somewhere some time that the difference between crime in England and crime in the U.S. is that in England, murderers do weird stuff like hide the body in a sports bag, or trap the victim in a bell tower where he's killed by the noise, or kidnap him on a Spanish beach and smuggle the body back home in pieces in suitcases, or some other esoteric thing that makes the detectiving interesting. Meanwhile, in the U.S., they just pull out a gun and shoot him.
