From the Cathedral terrace, we spotted people in the river with big orange buoys. Closer investigation revealed locals disrobing on the river bank, stuffing their things into a sort of big vinyl handbag, filling with air to taste, and jumping in with it. Lacking handbags, we were obliged to leave our things on the riverbank and restrict ourselves to short floats. Charming custom. Far too dirty and dangerous to be allowed in France.
