Germany policy is designed to benefit Germany.

It might not work out that way and, in any case, it is designed to benefit only a few Germans, on whose behalf the others are resolutely sacrificing their prospects.

As the Dutch said while fighting the Spanish: "It is not necessary to have hope in order to persevere."
