I tried to indicate various developments there that make even post-communism a past: on one hand, PSD was born in 2001 after a merger between former post-communist President Ion Iliescu's also post-communist PDSR and some smaller parties; on the other hand, a lot of the old guard from the nineties (with past in the communist party or without) is now sidelined, and present chairman Victor Ponta is a 39-year-old yuppie. (Speaking of yuppies, I wonder whether PSD's choice of a young face was incluenced by Emil Boc's youthfulness at the time, and if someone even younger than Boc was chosen at least partially because of Ponta.
