What makes you think France is one of the strongest four? The team played only draws against a number of opponents over the past season (though they beat Germany in an away match, but I said I believe they are specially disposed for that) and playmaker Ribéry seemed worn-out towards the end of the Champions League.

I may be over-optimistic on their behalf, but I feel like Gourcuff will finally fulfil some of his potential and do so by sending some passes for Benzema to streak on to. I have a feeling this is where Benzema lives up to expectations too.

I think you're right about Ribery, but he will still draw defensive cover, at least for a while...

Before I read your reply I just wanted to add a disclaimer with Benzema. Even in his best season he was in Ronaldo's shadow in Real, but this could be his chance to shine brighter.
