Famously, Gödel informed the judge at his U.S. citizenship hearing about an inconsistency that he had discovered in the Constitution, which would allow a dictator to rise in America.

I'm sure the judge replied "you say that like it's a bad thing"

No
When we came to Trenton, we were ushered into a big room, and while normally the witnesses are questioned separately from the candidate, because of Einstein's appearance, an exception was made and all three of us were invited to sit down together, Gödel, in the center. The examiner first asked Einstein and then me whether we thought Gödel would make a good citizen. We assured him that this would certainly be the case, that he was a distinguished man, etc. And then he turned to Gödel and said, Now, Mr. Gödel, where do you come from?

Gödel: Where I come from? Austria.

The examiner: What kind of government did you have in Austria?

Gödel: It was a republic, but the constitution was such that it finally was changed into a dictatorship.

The examiner: Oh! This is very bad. This could not happen in this country.

Gödel: Oh, yes, I can prove it.

So of all the possible questions, just that critical one was asked by the examiner.
Einstein and I were horrified during this exchange; the examiner was intelligent enough to quickly quieten Gödel and broke off the examination at this point, greatly to our relief."

Parallel universes, so Godelian! What are New Yorkers smoking?

There is my official abuse of Godel's incompleteness since recently.

Delegated causality has a self-contradictory flavor of a Goodelian paradox [36] in the causality language. This messes up basic principles for physicalism [42], and Kim's argument [41] against non-reductive physicalism.

the up* and down*, the in* and out*, the reverse* and rarely inverse* or reciprocal*: cartesian axes and real number lines are quite a handicap in communicating unknown quantities and mathematical operations, after all. The concept of infinitesimal "boundaries" is an inadequate expression of being and becoming. How many uh times must it be said until it is not?

I am preparing a new version of that article, with a revised introduction and a new brave section "7 An integrated view". (Current PDF). Anyone has wise remarks and acknowledgment wishes (over the weekend)?

addresses the pwned UN Assembly today 10:20 EST.
I will listen to VOA/NPR's post-event interpretation until I pass out or find anything else to do, which ever comes first to mind.

A lot of laughs in Trump's hour-long panegyric, especially condemnation of the "success" of socialist and communist proven failures: THAT stumped the audience for a minute. Then polite applauders rallied for five seconds.

I shut off VOA/NPR interpreters after ten minutes. That is once reporters had established further "analysis" (by expert panelists forthcoming) would be limited to How Trump Disappointed His Base.

Even his theology is all wrong. The American Conservative
The statement itself is also rather odd in that it talks about the many being righteous, when religious texts normally present the righteous as being the relatively few and embattled against the wicked multitude. If the "wicked" are so few, they must be badly outnumbered and don't pose as much of a threat as Trump claims elsewhere.

Yesterday USA Today predicted Trump's United Nations speech to call for cooperation on North Korea
although White House has not yet published prepared remarks today.

Guess you had to be there < wipes tears > unlike C-SPAN.

hmm, 'Bezos' Daily call to action "In U.N. speech, Trump threatens to `totally destroy North Korea' and calls Kim Jong Un the `Rocket Man'" looks suspiciously like 'liberal' lady call to action "Trump Threatens to `Totally Destroy' North Korea".

Am I about to miss an investment opportunity again?!

Psst, wanna make a killing in deathware?

Some have retired on just crowd control equpiment dividends; not quite as profitable, but nicer to talk about at the family dinners.

Since 9/11 sales have been stellar. Ask Rudy.

And of course Tamilflu shares put many in clover. As soon as Rumsfeld was heard to be on the board of directors you had to know that was a no-brainer.

re: "real men"

hmm, yes, well, I've had a "Deep Space 9" retrospective or my mind for the past few weeks. Consequently, I'm uncertain if "real ferangi" is the truly the more fitting term.
