Bird flu could lead to £100 Christmas turkey | This is Money

Bird flu could cause the price of Christmas turkeys to rocket this year, with organic birds likely to cost more than £100.

As many as two million turkeys are now regarded as at risk following an outbreak of the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu at a Suffolk poultry farm.

Prices have already risen sharply this year because of the spiralling cost of wheat feed. It makes up two thirds of the diet of farmed turkey and costs 70% more than two years ago.

Well George Bush has just come out and said

You British wouldn't have this problem if you hadn't let your border with Turkey become infested with these H5N1 biological weapons.

If I was the Turkey I'd want a lot more than £100

So gay marriage will lead to bestiality, but blowjobs from turkeys on Thanksgiving aren't as bad as blowjobs from Jews on Easter in the eyes of conservatives, or so I gather from the Clinton impeachment.

I'm having trouble figuring out the degrees of sinfulness here, to be quite honest.  Maybe Sonny Perdue can pray for me.

All countries with large turkey deposits are now set to see their economies skyrocket.

In Finland it's kinkku for Yule - a big pig joint. In this respect we have rather more in common with China, than Islamic countries (and Israel). let alone the W*estern Communion with gobblers.

Man!  This is terrible.

I just bought a turkey on Tuesday.  Paid $0.82 per kilo for it.  Apparently, there ARE some advantages of living in the American Midwest.

(sheesh)

Give the market a little time to recover.  I'm betting I can pick up a heavily processed piece of crap at Safeway for $7 by next Wednesday.  Or is that 700 pesos?

70 pesos. But how long will it take before the dollar reaches parity with the Peso?

I was pessimistic.  $5.88 for a 16 lb turkey.  take out the 8% salt water solution and it's still 14 lbs.

No minimally processed turkeys for sale unf.  But it's 82F in the pool and the weather is clear.  some upsides to being in the middle of nowhere.

Dollar/peso.  They'll converge as the rest of the population south of the border moves on up.  I think we should just annex Mexico so that we could tax the landowners and mega wealthy to help support their serfs.
