Migeru does Paris

by Migeru

Or whizzes through, anyway, on his way to Madrid.

I'll be in Paris from 5pm on Thursday to 8pm on Friday. Jerome has suggested lunch on Friday but the time and location for that is still unknown. I'm thinking of having dinner with Cyrille on Thursday. If you're around you're welcome to come along to either meal.

Suggestions welcome in the comments.

Last Spring we had a very nice, cheap dinner at a place recommended by redstar - I forget the details but I wouldn't mind going there again on Thursday.

L'inedit café and Antonin is correct it is on the Rue Taine in the 12th.

Good, and cheap.

If you are to go on Thursday PM, let me know.

Thanks.

Will you only join us if it's at the Inedit?

Of course not!

Actually, Jérôme's neighborhood works best for me anyway. That's also quite close to where I live.

This is another pretty inexpensive and good place, not too far from chez Jérôme...

Oops, wrong Buron

Here's the right one. Metro Lourmel in the 15th.

Well, on Thursday I'm letting Cyrille decide as he's offered to have me stay at his place. As for Friday, Jerome still hasn't confirmed that his work schedule allows lunch... Stay tuned!

I'm open to not deciding unilaterally, but please (pretty please), on Thursday, not in Jérôme's neighborhood. It's at the other end of the city and I have to be at my apartment around 7.30 pm for a visit (I'm selling).

Now, depending on the number of people involved, we may or may not go to Les Allobroges, which is really nice.
20e Art is quite nice next to our place too.

Anyway, gotta go back to work. I'll count the likely candidates tomorrow and we can decide where we're going then.

Jerome is in Copenhagen on Thursday.

No, for Thrusday let's find a place conveniently located between Gare du Nord and your place :-) What arrondissement is that again? 20th?

Miguel, I suggest that you come to our appartment first, to leave whatever luggage you may have, and we'll go to the restaurant from there.
We'll have to be home for the visit at 7.30pm anyway and we could meet you there.
It's Maraîchers métro station, 78, rue des Pyrénées, and well I won't post the digicode here ;-) but people joining us would be quite welcome for an apéritif drink.

I'd suggest going to les Allobroges (Maraîchers or Nation métro stop) and people are welcome to join, but I need to know pretty soon how many people would join to make a reservation. If we have too many people I'll switch to another place.

If Obama wins and I'm in Paris I'd like to celebrate the end of Republican rule and join you Thursday evening. If McCain wins I'm becoming a monk.

Idle threat. It's not that it's too late for you to dedicate your life to chastity, but I doubt they'd let you into the monastery.

Trying to figure things out.
On the assumption that Republicans don't quite manage to steal the election despite the massive disenfranchisement and voter fraud which we just know they will undertake and have in fact already undertaken, I'm counting LEP in. If they do manage to steal the election, we'll intronise LEP to the order of Thélème, where sex, good food and good wine are more than encouraged. Motto, for those who don't read Rabelais : do as you like.

But will you come on your own, LEP, or will, say, Esther, celebrate alongside you (or witness your intronisation)?

Redstar, I know you're right on the other side of the town BUT Nation is reasonably quickly reached by RER. Are you in?

Linca, well, if you come I guess I should count two, so what is it? None or two?

I'd like to book today, so hopefully you will be browsing soon.

Given that 538.com gives McCain a 1.9% chance of winning I think it's reasonably safe to count me in, although I do hate to jinx the election and am furiously knocking on my wooden table as I type this. By the way, I'm not superstitious.

OK, let's put it like this: if McCain is frauded into the White House, I will definetely need your friendly presence to cheer me up, so let's say you would come anyway, please?

Seriously, I remember 4 years ago and I was a mess for days.
Then of course, I remember May 2007, but at least I could prepare for the misery as it was at least fully expected.

OK, I have a preliminary reservation for 7, this would bring it to 8.
I'm waiting for the last thumbs-up from Geezer too (it's apparently a 4 cm. deal), so you're not holding me back just yet.

I suggest that you all meet at my place (78, rue des Pyrénées) for an apéritif at 8 or just before, and it's so close to the Restaurant that we'll then walk there. I'm thinking of reserving for 8.30.

Now, you can drop me an email for digicode ;-)

Can I (please?) get a confirmation from Redstar and Geezer?
