Meet-up Apero Today

by redstar
Sat May 3rd, 2008 at 01:04:22 AM EST

Short and sweet, formalizing plans for Saturday PM. Thinking we start the apero at 18h30 at Le Dalou, 30 Place Nation, Metro Nation (of course).

I have reservations for 8 at 21h30, at l'Inédit Café, Angle rue de la Lancette et 4, rue Taine. Very good food and cheap (everything under EUR 10) We can walk from Nation or, if lazy, take the metro. Metro is Daumesnil.

Waaaah !!! I am so disappointed not to be there but I just don't dare travel yet.

And my deepest apology to InWales who cannot come because of my illness.

Enough apologies, these things happen. Besides, recovery time is needed for me now.
Get well.

I must be totally dense, I thought the dinner was at bistro something (des Batignolles was it?). I also thought we were rather more than 8.

Anyway, place de la Nation is a stone's throw from where I live so I wouldn't complain.

I should be getting around 18h and meeting up with Geezer. I'll definitely join the main group before dinner, but I can't say when.

Be good to see you, Miguel and Johnathan- the girls are looking forward to it, as are we. Will probably call you, and redstar, and perhaps check out the place for acessibility.

It'd be nice to see you in the evening too !

Can probably do that, Linca.
Visited both places, Le Dalou and L'Inedit, and -- Eureka! I can get into both! So unless there's a password I don't know, I'm coming.

I have a proposal that I'd like to float with the group.
Hint:
Pierre Bordieu busted the incestuous world of French publishing  a good one in the chops- and amazed the doubters by making money doing it. The printed word may be dying, but it aint dead yet.

We're planning lunch at 12:30 on Sunday at the Restaurant Firenze, 30 Avenue de Versailles, near Jerome's flat in the 16th (metro Mirabeau or Javel). If the weather is nice we'll go to Parc Sainte Perrine for the rest of the afternoon. I have a reservation for 23 but we'll be only 19 so late arrivals can be accommodated (Fran, you're still on time!).
  1. Migeru (with son)
  2. Colman & Sam (with son - but he doesn't take up a space at the table)
  3. Geezer in Paris (with wife and two daughters)
  4. redstar
  5. linca (and wife)
  6. LEP
  7. Paul Spencer (with wife)
  8. Jérôme (with wife and three children)

I'll be coming alone for lunch. Wife and kids will drop by later in the afternoon.

I have to be in Sèvres at 15h30 for my last appointment of the day. Very most likely I will be back on time, but just in case, there's a possibility I might be late to apero maybe 15 minutes.

Probably not, though...
