Photobucket

This week's blog will be "Photos As Usual", for anything new you'd like to delight us with.

And we will also have the usual "Ask the Expert" about anything you like, composition, technical things and so on.

Please try to keep to 600 pixels width and 100kb to 150kb max in file size and take a look at Wednesday Photography Blog No.2 for the technical bits on how to post.

Someone's new technology automatically limits width of photos shown to 600pixels. But it allows you to click and hold on the photos to see the larger version if the file is greater than 600 pixels in width.

Please do not click on post a comment but reply under one of the headers instead.

Have fun, and throw anything in, we want to see your photos!

You must be back in the DC area.  We just arrived last Sunday.  What absolutely miserable weather!

I've been here since September 21st. It hasn't rained much until yesterday. My sister arrived today from Florida and a cousin is coming down from New York on Saturday -all to see the new baby. I'm going back to Paris next Tuesday.

I've spent all of my time in D.C. and New York and I haven't noticed the recession very much except that many restaurants seem much less busy than they used to. Of course, D.C. was always considered recession proof.

If you're in town during my next visit (April) we can try to arrange an ET D.C. mini meetup

Yes, we should do a mini meetup. We should be back here by then. There must be several of us who are in the DC area permanently or from time to time.

We visited the Merida Zoological Park last week.  None of the residents were into photo ops.

except this one.

Taken aback, I looked elsewhere and eventually managed to find a few who were more willing to pose politely.

Tiger, tiger still burning bright;

the proud king;

the timid jester; and finally,

the flamboyant bird.

A day at the beach on Isla del Carmen.

Sun, sea, blue skies; I was burned to a crisp.

The beaches were deserted with school in session, despite 37 degree (C) temps.

Driftwood.

Panning for white gold.

For whoever requested it in my diary a couple of months ago, I finally caught up with the steam train, and snapped it on my phone camera.

I really like the rich greeny blackness of the cliff. Exposure for the sky, rather than the ground, increases the drama of the picture. And I guess that it better conveys your feeling of the weather at that moment.

I do like my horizons horizontal though ;-)

The thing is that I was perfectly happy with the weather, after such a long and torrid summer here in Catalonia.
