I can see you!
Photobucket

This week's blog will be "Photos As Usual", for anything new you'd like to delight us with.

And we will also have the usual "Ask the Expert" about anything you like, composition, technical things and so on.

Please try to keep to 600 pixels width and 100kb to 150kb max in file size and take a look at Wednesday Photography Blog No.2 for the technical bits on how to post.

Someone's new technology automatically limits width of photos shown to 600pixels. But it allows you to click and hold on the photos to see the larger version if the file is greater than 600 pixels in width.

Please do not click on post a comment but reply under one of the headers instead.

Have fun, and throw anything in, we want to see your photos!

I love this photo.
It also indulges my optical illusion synapses.

Oh to be a child again.
You`ve captured the beauty of youth in these images of such beautiful children.

Thank you Knucklehead. We do live through our children and grandchildren.  They help us (older adults)appreciate the mystery and joy of life. What would we do without them?

Her Elizabeth Frink rip-off, inspired by this sculpture we saw in Salisbury Cathedral

Her Henry Moore

Inspiration unknown. Sadly it once had ceramic face and hands, but they weren't frost-resistant.

As previewed last week

Rockery decorations, that's the trial piece for the third one above.

I don,t think Knucklehead had anything to do with this, but ... :-))

Sorry CH, she went through a peiod of "Indian" art.

Helen,
That`s an interesting sculpture garden.
I did have to go search for one of my "finds", that reminded me of the "her Henry Moore" piece.
As for the fish, I wish it were one of mine, I`d be rich, charging admission to see a fish with that many pectoral fins.
I love that kind of garden.
I have many different kinds of sculptures in my gardens.
I hope many appreciate your mother`s garden.
I hope you don`t take offense.

My Henry Moore`ish. I believe this was part of a set of Zodiac ones, this one being Leo.

Thank you. It's just about remembering to
i) have a camera
ii) take the damn picture.

There were some lovely scenes in S W France of the leaves turning in the vineyards, but we were always driving and by the time you saw something worth taking a photo of, you were past it.

Gringo,
What`s nice about viewing images is you can make up your own story as well as the photographer can.

Absolutely.  For example, some of your photos remind me of the montage like scenes from the "I Spy" series of childrens books.  They keep asking, what am I really seeing?

As with all art - your own interpretation is always as valid as the artist's intention (if there is one) - though often these coincide.

I like SCREWED UP...and a previous portrait of the child.
Two totally different topics but still...
How I feel about photography is that it should show "joy of life" no matter what's on it (even when topic is death).
Joy of life itself...that I somehow lost recently.Probably that's the reason why I can't produce photos that even I would like lately..haha.

I hope you find the joy in life again very soon.

Thank you for your well wishing...I also still have hope.
Because I feel life is a gift...we shouldn't waste it.
Our joy on the other hand is not always in our hands...
You know how they say that "beauty is in eyes of beholder" (or something like that). With a photography I feel it is very important WHO is taking it.We can have same cameras , same object etc. and still we'll have different photos.Cause we put piece of our soul in every photo.I have heard somewhere how some people do not want to be photographed because they believe that it's taking a bit of life (soul) from them. But it also give that piece of soul to others who are going to see it.
Aboriginies here in Australia do not want to see photos of deceised people ( I do not know exactly why is this ofending to them)...I had photos of my dead ancestors around the house untill at some point I felt unconfortable and I put them back to the album.
Photography is definitely strange media. It capture seconds of life...indefinitely.Good photography capture joy of life...even when it's sad.
All the best In Wales...
