The "à Paris" family grows

Ex-Dexia chief names advisory firm
Former Dexia head of energy Jerome Guillet has revealed the name of his new-Paris based financial advisory boutique.
The firm, which will be focussed on renewable energy project finance in both Europe and the US, will be called Energy Bankers à Paris. Registration with the French authorities was completed on Tuesday.
With a strong focus on the offshore wind sector, the firm will be based in central Paris and initially comprise of Guillet and three other project financiers, who are set to join at the start of April.
As IJ News reported earlier this month, Energy Bankers à Paris already has its first mandate, advising C-Power on the financing of phase 2 of its Thornton Bank offshore wind farm in Belgium.

Thanks to all of you here who have made me believe in my "brand" and helped me learn so many new things, and want to do more out there.

There will be more to come!

On the other hand, you may see me slightly less around the blog for a while as my work schedule is quite filled up with a lot of practicalities (Apple fans will be happy to know that the new company will be a Mac/iphone environment...).

Jerome Guillet is leaving the energy and environment team at Dexia. He specialised in renewable projects, particularly offshore wind and was involved in arranging the Q7 and Belwind financings. Guillet has been at Dexia for eight years and is leaving at the end of the month.

it seems my move is attracting the attention of the professional press - they keep on asking me for more details, so I release small tidbits each time and get plenty of publicity. It's nice... and I give each of them small scoops each time :)

Hopefully in the near future I'll also be able to announce deals being concluded - but that's going to be a number of months away, with quite a bit of work ahead.

Jerômè, I hope your motto will someday be "World Leader in Wind Finance", riffing off Dexia's.

BTW: My better half has just accepted a position in utility scale PV development with a US subsidiary of a certain very large French utility, and her having worked for Dexia sure didn't hurt her chances of being hired. And hopefully, this will provide us with more opportunities to hop across the pond. I miss it over there (though, the weather here, --SF Bay-- is to die for).

Are you also working on an financial modelling app? Would be great on the iPad!!! Although having iPhone, Macbook Air and iPad with you to meetings would look quite silly :-) Unless you have a deal with Steve Jobs and get kick backs for your free advertisement...
