Wiki:
Social scientists have researched the effect of facial hair on the electability of Presidential candidates, and currently consider facial hair to have a negative effect on candidates. Today, the existence of facial hair on potential presidential candidates is regularly noted (albeit somewhat jokingly) as a harmful factor.
I was just thinking Edwardian and wondering whether to have a point on my beard (established 1968). It would be a sort of hat tip to Anonymous (though none of that RC Fawkes nonsense)
Then I thought: what if pointy devil-unlikely-to-care facial hair would become a meme for all men of the leftist persuasion. It would have a number of benefits.
- a finger to the clean-shaven elite
- anonymous solidarity
- greater acceptance by the Islamic community
- identification with explorers
- save time in the morning
- identification with jazz
- solidarity with the homeless
- a badge(r) of honour
- permission to wear sandals
What other benefits might there be?
