David Cameron could have ridden Rebekah Brooks's ex-police horse, Downing Street admits - Telegraph

David Cameron could have gone riding on Rebekah Brooks's ex-police horse, Raisa, Downing Street has admitted for the first time.

The disclosure raises questions about the closeness between the Prime Minister and Mrs Brooks, the former tabloid editor who quit as chief executive of News International at the height of the phone hacking scandal last summer.

Aye! We have come to a sad pass:

To suggest that the gifts of the holiday in Malibu and the case of Glennfiddick blinded my judgement on this matter is again a vile slur against my character and my wife and family are suffering in the face of it.

After all, that is less than £10,000. But then there is the cockroach theory.

Well, he certainly seemed to be in a permanent rage. His recent performance screaming "Rapists" at an Occupy site was several shades beyond deranged.

I can't say I'm sorry, he was one of the more dishonest republican henchpersons, which is no mean feat

I either lost my wallet or it was stolen in the Zurich Hauptbahnhof.  Now I must depend on the efficiency of the Zurich banks, and the kindness of my friends here to get some money once I file a police report.

I went to the police station but they told me to come back tomorrow.  There wasn't much money in the wallet, but there was my bank card and I have no money at the moment.

Hopefully the police do a better job than the Italians did when mine was stolen last summer (in the train in Innsbruck actually). Their first attempt at a report claimed that the theft happened (sic; not "would happen"....) 2 weeks in the future, and the bank didn't want to accept it.

the bank was just as incompetent as the police in your case.  they should have realized that there was a mistake.

there's this police walking all around the Hauptbahnhof and then when you need them, you realize they are not police, just security people pretending to be police.

Anyway, the cleaning guys were nice and let me check the clear garbage bags they were hauling away to see if perhaps the thief threw away the wallet with the cards and kept the cash.

I had the advantage over you that I was on the train home, where I had my American bank card (which I hardly ever use, since I don't keep much money in the account), and Amex delivered a replacement in one day (so you do get something in return for the annual fee....). And just by chance I had somehow just gotten into DB's bahn.comfort category, so the new BahnCard that was waiting in the mail also served as a replacement for the stolen one.... which was just as well, as both the Austrian and the Italian police managed to screw up (in completely different ways) the term "BahnCard".

It's interesting how this sort of thing always seems to happen in places that are thought of as safe, such as Zurich HB or a train in Innsbruck. It never happens to me in Naples or Rome, while the first place I was ever robbed was in Harrods in London (and I'm not referring to their prices....)

I was also pickpocketed in Geneva, which is well known for it, and in Montreal, Canada.
