Here's an article about installing new outhouses on a Native American reservation...referring to Colman's comments yesterday about how great things were or weren't in the 1970s...

As I mentioned, my car had its annual service last week and, effectively, the last rites were performed. It needed more work doing to it than it was worth.

So we went up to the car shop today and I will be trading in my "heap of shit" (c Bill Hicks) for a newer model 8 years younger and diesel powered.

I usually drive with the miles per gallon visible. On my petrol 1L6 I averaged 30 - 35. On this, a 1L9 I was getting 48 - 60. Most satisfactory.

Sold

Don't worry, there will be return visits. Visiting you would be an excellent part of any future itinerary.

This was just a quick long discussed weekend to size up Dublin pubs see Colman and family.

Actually, I would like to visit it, just to say I have. But as for finding good pubs go, as you might imagine, I have my own sources of information

Finished roasting coffee using up the snabs and snibblets of leftovers in bags one of which was Bali Kintamani Wet-Hull Arabica described as:

Very "Indonesia" cup profile, very fruity, with low acidity, chocolate roast notes, caramel, melon, some herbal accents.

I suppose that conveys something, to somebody.

But not me.

Ever since I learnt about confirmation bias I've started seeing it everywhere

Do any of our Greek compatriots have any insight on what the impact of this will be?

Greece's pre-electoral climate has become more explosive after a high-profile neo-Nazi MP assaulted two female politicians from leftwing parties on live TV. The brawl, a first in the nearly 40 years since democracy was returned to its birthplace, broke out during a morning talkshow when Ilias Kasidiaris, the spokesman of the far-right Chrysi Avgi (Golden Dawn) took umbrage at deputy Rena Dourou declaring that his party "will take the country back 500 years".

After leaping from his seat and throwing a glass of water at Dourou, a deputy with the radical Syriza party, Kasidiaris then turned on Liana Kanelli, an MP with the KKE communist party, who, waving a piece of paper, stood up to condemn the action.

As the cameras rolled, the cropped-haired Kasidiaris, a weightlifting enthusiast, who had served in the Greek military's special forces, is shown lashing out at Kanelli slapping her around the face three times as she threw up her arms in self-defence. Shouting :"No, no, no," the talkshow's presenter, Giorgos Papadakis, then tried to intervene but within moments other guests present said the MP had fled the studio.

Video of the incident is up on youtube.

talos:

After this the Nazi representatives have been "withdrawn" from TV debates. Don't know if this costs them or is exactly what their base wants of them. There is now a warrant for the Nazi's arrest, who was elected May 6th, and is currently on trial for robbery and grievous bodily harm....

Of course someone had posted up on it already....  one of my socialist friends on facebook had something up about  Kasidiaris having holed up in the Golden Dawn HQ waiting for the police to come in and arrest him. I have to imagine that any situation in which the police have to force their way into the building is going to add to the drama.

That's what the Republican convention is for.
But in some states the strategy has caused major problems. In Louisiana, tensions between the Paul and Romney camps spilled over into a public dispute last weekend that saw duelling state conventions in the city of Shreveport being held in the same room. Police were eventually called amid physical scuffles.

Beautiful day. Giants/Padres game on the tube with Texas rolling into AT&T Park tomorrow. Feel sorry for the Padres ... in last place in the NL West and plenty of empty seats. I've gotten spoiled with AT&T always having a sellout.
