It's taken me a while to upload pictures given the very slow connections over here, but here are finally some pictures of the sacred valley (above) and various Inca sites.

We had the whole day today (Tuesday 21) to visit Cuzco, and it's by far the nicest city we've visited to date - and also the most obviously prosperous. It's also a one-industry town, completely focused on tourism.

From La Paz, we went back to Puno and were supposed to continue by car all the way to Cuzco. Thankfully, we managed to switch that part of the trip to the daily train between the two cities, the Andean Explorer.

Friday we flew back from Uyuni, and had a nice view of the city just before landing (the airport is on the high plateau on the left side of the picture):

My last note was that we were blocked in Sucre by a local strike (which, in Bolivia like in Peru, often take the form of road blockades) - with a short comment a bit later that we had managed to get through.
Here's that tale, along with pictures of Potosi and, the next day, Uyuni.

I was not expecting to be able to update the blog today, but there is a strike today and strikes in Bolivia means blocked roads and we are stuck for the moment and unable to proceed with our itinerary...
Sunday, we drove from Puno to La Paz, and yesterday, we took an early plane to Sucre, where we spent the day (and where we are still right now)

Most of the day near Puno - part of it walking on water...

(yeah, yeah, apologies for the "starbucks" search - some of us like their latte, and we do collect their mugs, the Peruvian one is rather nice...)

Very early start the next day to go visit the Culco canyon, as the condors are best visible in the morning, plus we had a long drive after that.

Trying to do this when I have wifi so that the mount of pictures to post does not become overwhelming...

While driving on the altiplano, we came across a train line - the Cusco - Puno - Arequipa line and I tried to take a few pictures:

Hi everybody. This is just to do a quick introduction to this travel blog - I'll be in Peru and Bolivia for the next 3 weeks and hope to share some of our experiences here.
