Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

CIA flight/prison linkfest

by Migeru Wed Sep 13th, 2006 at 06:14:09 PM EST

Prompted by some recent angry remarks about the CIA prison/flight scandal, I decided to collect all stories/diaries published on ET on the subject so far, as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

I even mentioned the CIA prisons in one of my diaries, if you can believe that:

This year's Constitution day is a sad one for me. On the one hand, the Constitution has become a political battleground in Spain. On the other hand, the raging CIA secret flights/prisons scandal, in which Spain's government is behaving as duplicitously as all others, reminds me of the GAL state terrorism scandal that severely blemished Felipe Gonzalez's tenure as Prime Minister of Spain. It would seem that Spain's polity did not learn the lessons of that scandal, and that does not bode well for the future.

So, what has been diaried on ET about the secret prisons?

I haven't seen Chris Kulczycki around anywhere for some time, more's the pity. And I miss the stormy present.

tsp, are you out there?

If anyone knows any other diaries that should be on the list, let me know!

The kidnapping of Abu Omar in Milan is perhaps the only case that brought about a full legal investigation with indictments not only of 26 American agents (mostly from the CIA) but highranking Italian Sismi agents.

The case has been diaried at Booman and here.

Extensively diaried, indeed:

Wow! You've put together more than I had. Here's one I wrote under another handle.

Another Italian "rendition" case? by rom wyo, July 5, 2005.

Now that it's known that Andrea Purgatori allegedly collaborated extensively with SISMi agent Pio Pompa, this story takes on another light.
