you could be looking at 10-25cm of rainfall in one day, even from a tropical storm... if it lingers for a couple of days... hope you're not anywhere near a flood plane... I've been through about 10 hurricanes or tropical storms myself now, and the flooding always sneaks up on people...

I was not joking when I talked about a draught followed by a flash flood. Spain (especially the Mediterranean coast) is prone to flooding at this time of the year, on the heels of scorching summer heat.

Over the last decade or so there have been two tragic flash floods in Spain, one in Biescas (Aragón) where a campsite in a mountain valley was washed away by a flash flood, and another in Extremadura where a whole neighbourhood was washed away by a swollen river.
