I wrote a letter to the editor... (4.00 / 4)

... of de Volkskrant regarding various ministers' folding to Condi and saying "hey, she's convinced me that everything is just fine!"

I specifically targeted Bot, saying that it's outrageous that he bought Condi's propaganda.

They didn't print my letter, even though it was polite; they usually print letters like that, even if they're very critical of the government. Oh well, maybe next time.

(And yes, my written Dutch is just fine, heh.)

I have sent several letters to Dutch parliament and JP, no replies yet. JP at least has software installed to confirm the message has been received - LOL.

Burgemeester Deetman gaat onder druk van de Haagse gemeenteraad aan de Amerikanen twee alternatieve locaties voorleggen voor de nieuwe vestiging van hun ambassade.

De verhuizing zal daardoor niet binnen vijf jaar plaatsvinden. De nieuwe locaties zijn: de hondenrenbaan - Oostersportpark - aan de Benoordenhoutseweg, en het rugbyterrein aan de Theo Mann-Bouwmeesterlaan - nabij hockey sportpark HDM.

Both locations are within city limits of Wassenaar.

I was in Spain those early days of June... Somehow, if you miss the news about these things, you would never know until the next chapter is reached...

It took me 2 years to learn that the entire monarch family in Nepal was butchered by the royal heir in 2001. I was abroad at that time, far away located from press coverages, as so often happens in my field. When I came back, it didn't get any more coverage...

I agree... (none / 1)

I hold Ben Bot still as one of the more respectable ministers of the Dutch government, and applauded him when he took a noticeable critical stance (more critical than many other EU ministers) towards Rice. The more baffled I was when the next day the slate had been completely wiped clean by one single statement, especially one that remains dubious enough, something soj showed in one of his CIA series.

In the meantime, this story has not stopped rolling at all - and that to me is the most important right now.
