Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Thanks for your eloquent and thought-provoking piece, to which I can add nothing.

Now out of those 16 hours a day, I will give to anyone who wants to bring about a Democratic win in 2006 one fourth of my working time and energy.  I will give you folks four hours a day.  I will do anything -- write letters, send out literature, write articles, etc.  Being in Ireland, that's about the best I can offer you.

Sounds like an offer one would be terminally stupid to refuse! :-)

I give a 4 and a recommend.

I could not agree more. I might add that people usually forget that in protecting the rights of minorities (both people and opinion) they are, infact, helping protect themselves.

If minorities are not protected eventually even most of the majority begind to suffer as well.. as power shifts they begin to find that they themselves are in a minority that the power holders do not find appropriate. Slippery slopw thinking .. yes. I can't think of how it's fallacious , though.

Hermaphrodite with attitude!
