In yet another way Germany gets closer to France, where most of the media is controlled by a few conglomerates which are otherwise actively present in the weapons business, and thus heavily dependent on public contracts and political support: Lagardère (owner of Hachette and of part of EADS), Dassault (Le Figaro and a number of regional papers), and Bouygues (the construction group, owner of TF1, the main TV channel).
