I highlight two points therein:

  • The purchase of Soviet-type weapons and parts (the largest part of Saddam's imports) produced elsewhere (say Egypt) was specially helped, even Israel offered help (but that was refused).

  • The famous RPGs, one of the chief weapons of the Iraqi resistance today, got to Iraq on the insistence of the CIA (they are called "anti-armor penetrators" in the affidavit).
