Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.
This makes the upcoming Gates hearings a lot more interesting, I must say. Is anyone in the Senate out there to get at Hillary?

The Gates nomination is going to be fast tracked.  Levin has said so.  No reason to think anyone is going to cause trouble - sadly.

They are all getting ready for the next war against Iran and want their man Gates in place to prevent a mutiny among the military brass.

What I found on Levin through a quick google search was that he said that he wanted to take a fresh look at Gates, signalling perhaps that he wouldn't rake up scandals from the '80s. But other dems on the committee might raise some mischief...

I don't think that a war with Iran is going to happen (or that Democrats want it).
