Just as an fyi, Applebaum's husband, Radek Sikorski, is the Polish minister of defense. Sikorski is if anything even more hardcore neo-con than his wife. And as an additional tidbit, when Sikorski went to Afghanistan as a journalist back in the eighties he ended up joining up with the mujaheddin.
