Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Now this is a welcome new departure. I think you need one in every chapter, which is why the last chapter... Well, let's say I had a job reading it.

Has the outgoing president stepped down into a hole in the road? Will N. be the next president? Or will it be D.? Tantalizing questions...

It is too late for D. to eventually make up his mind and be in the race as well.
Besides, this would make the story look too much like the Ségolène-François ordeal...

Ségolène is an elegant, good-looking woman (like N.). But could you possibly be implying that D. resembles François Hollande? (I don't want to believe that...)

Not quite, I admit. However remember that D. is everything but the glamorous type.
For your record, N. is much prettier than Ségolène, who I do not think would qualify as supermodel for all her genuine attractiveness.

Oh, I'm sure N. is on another planet altogether than Ségolène. I was just a little worried about D., that was all. I mean, François... <cough>

D. is a few pounds slimmer, don't worry.
But I am told he has un faible for chocolate...
