Sorry, poemless, but Mark Ames nails why the vast majority of Russians have no sympathy for Khodorkovsky ;-)  Or America lately, for that matter.

Selling military helicopters and kalashnikovs to Hugo Chavez and nuclear technology to Iran is a win-win for Russia.  First, it brings in large amounts of hard currency for an industry that still remains competitive on the world stage - and employs a huge number of Russian workers.  Second, both Venezuela and Iran are on Washington's sh*t list, so helping them (while at the same time furthering your own interests) is a no-brainer.
