Pierre's "super-spinner" is spot-on.  Leaving aside the rant on Chirac (which is founded), anyone from left to right (leaving extremes aside) could have said what was in the article above and I would have been unable to guess whether Royal or Sarko was the author.

What does 'social leg' mean? Does that mean all of Europe must have same tax, employment, social laws? Why do you need to do this? Why can't you let each country have the work ethics and social protection they want? A consensus will never be achieved on these issues anyway.
