Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

BTW, where have you found that image of the Navy Base?

In the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, back in June. There is an even more striking photo there, with bomber-like buildings facing the swastika.

Thanks.

I wonder. The designer of the building must surely have noticed what shape he has designed. I can't let up the thought that the similarity wasn't unintended...

Me neither. Ostensibly, the shape was designed for air condition purposes and the similarity discovered too late to be changed.

Addendum: construction began in 1943, so it's not like they didn't know the modern symbolism of the swastika.

Heh. The Israeli ambassador has just lodged a complaint to the Norwegian Press Ethical Council about a caricature by the excellent Finn Graff, portraying Olmert as Amon Götz at his balcony. Wonder how that would fare at Daily Kos.

Part II, you mean? The Muhammed doodles were also filed against. Full acquittal, as there will also be in this case.

I fondly remember when this cartoonist, Finn Graff, drew an elephant bull taking an elephant cow from behind. The latter had the Stars and Stripes pulled over her eyes; the former's member was a crucifix. This prompted a FURIOUS letter to the editor from Republicans Abroad.
