Then, Katrina proved beyond any reasonable doubt that governments--at least in USA--are utterly incompetent to undertake difficult tasks.  Imagine not being able to maintain something as simple as a levee!!!?

This reminds me of this item in today's Salon...

The "taller, wider" flood barrier that replaced the ones that burst and flooded New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward during Hurricane Katrina have been rebuilt. However, they cannot handle a Katriana-sized storm.
Sigh.

Can the last politician to go out the revolving door please turn the lights off?
