The other trouble with Derber's plan is that every time we have a discussion here about "SME" and "job creation" we seem to find that this cliche isn't as robust in reality as it is in people's minds. That is to say, whilst it is a commonplace for people to say things like:

Most jobs are generated in the small and midsize business sector where genuine entrepreneurship still exists.

the evidence is rather more ambiguous.

Maybe if we replace "jobs" with "employment" we get a better fit? A lot of SMEs would be either self-employed people or family businesses who employ family members without actually giving them a "job"?

Can the last politician to go out the revolving door please turn the lights off?
