This is like many diaries in one, but I want to focus on the destruction of the "analytical" approach to intelligence within the CIA.

During Bush's Presidency the CIA has been the subject of a political purge. This is why Porter Goss was appointed to as Director in 2004. The US' diplomatic corps has also suffered a purge, and the Bush administration has even subverted the scientific agencies of the US government, once enviable. This has turned the US into a lobotomised, blind and mute giant with a big stick. A danger to itself and others.
