I ranted about the idea that Ireland was an example of neo-liberal policy success a lot some years ago. In more good news, the PDs, Ireland's most neo-liberal party are on the road to disbanding.

Sorry if I am covering old ground - I'm still in my first year here and haven't read the back catalog.  What amazes me is that de-regulation is still the mantra of the US elite when their wealth is being systematically destroyed in the US at the moment - despite very generous taxpayer handouts.  The Repugs like to call this creative destruction.  I don't see the creativity in it.

The PDs market a transition from National to International Capitalism in terms of the people they represented and the culture they embodied.  Perhaps they are disbanding because their agenda has been largely adopted by others?
