True Story. I was 12 and a new member of the school debating society. The motion was 'The extreme is justified in moderation'. I launched into a story, here foreshortened, about an egg packing plant. They use lamps to shine through the eggs as they stream past on a conveyor belt to check they are not fertilized. Problem with lamps overheating and catching fire. And onto the punch - 'The egg stream is just a fried conglomeration'.

It's been downhill ever since....
