Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

I don't have much time for any Finnish politician, except Erkki Tuomioja. (or Halonen). Were democratic representatives arranged by a system similar to jury duty (not practiced in Finland BTW), I doubt if we would see much difference in the quality of representation. Party controllers acknowledge this by regularly seconding media celebrities as candidates.

However the evolved system of MMCG or massively multiplayer coalition government ensures that ideology is homeopathetically diluted.

Local government in Finland is more interesting.

Welcome back, kerpele ;-)

It's good to be back, lerkepe ;)

I suppose that's an additional problem for the SDP. They don't really have a lot of outstanding personalities that are able to clearly and effectively communicate their message.
But, as you said, it's not as if they're able to stray too far from the beaten path anyway.
