I'm not sure if you've seen these two articles by UCLA historian Perry Anderson (Editor of New Left Review) in LRB:

• Nominally a book review on two works by Rizzo and Stella on political corruption in Italy, An Entire Order Converted into What It Was Intended to End, is pretty much a brief recap of post WWII Italian political history.

• He then wrote a long critical piece about the Italian Left that I found extremely informative and in tune with a lot of what vague recollections I have from the 80s when I was sort of following events in the PCI and PdUP.

Both are big articles, I was wondering what you make of them, if of course you find the time and the inclination to check them out!

I note in passing that Anderson's article on the Cyprus issue was spot-on IMHO and an excellent introduction to the problem.
