Well, go down to Appalachia, or across the rural midwest thats been in economic decline for a few decades and explain to them how favored they are.  Maybe you can make a theoretical case if you look at broad groups that don't really have that much in common, but when you actually look you see people as trapped as tight by economics, poverty, and history as any group you care to look at.
