Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

I'm going to suggest that we meet around 4p.m. at the Phillipe Auguste metro station (line 2). That will give us about two hours to stroll around Pere Lachaise.

I'll then try to make a reservation in a Chinese Restaurant at Belleville for 7p.m. One Chinese restaurant that comes to mind is The President, a very large and well known restaurant right at metro Belleville (also line 2). If I can get a large table for about 15 persons that might be perfect.
The critiques on the internet of The President have been spotty. Does anyone know it?

I'll post my mobile phone number in this diary next week.

4pm would be fine. I'll be arriving in the morning, but there's always a small chance that the hotel will insist on their 2pm checkin time.

Are you staying at the Passy-Home? Last year some people were able to check in as early as 10:30.

No, I'm staying somewhere cheaper, in Courbevoie (short walk to La Defense). I'll probably take my time getting there, and try to check in around noon.

People seem to be saying (in the Internet crits) that Le Président ain't what it used to be.

They say the same, but less strongly, about another big Chinese restaurant a block away, New Nioulaville.

Here's another, three Métro stops from Père Lachaise, Sin-An-Kiang, that seems quite well appreciated.

That's at Republique. If we walk to metro Pere Lachaise Republique's only a few stations away. I'll take a look on Wednesday if possible. We are somewhere between 12 and 15 persons.

For New Nioulaville, it would have to be a recent trend.

Or to have been absolutely incredible in the past. Anyway, it was pretty good last year.

Internet reviews are not very much to go on. If you recommend it, why don't we go there?

I'll try it tonight. I'm dining with a friend from the U.S.
