Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Huffington Post might be progressive on some topics but is utterly reactionary when it comes to Honduras (or at least when it provides a forum for authors like Christopher Sabatini).  Look at this #*%!@!!!  Read it!  There is not one mention of the deteriorating human rights situation in the country or of the murders, clearly carried out to stifle democracy:

The community radio station, La Voz de Zacate Grande, 97.1 FM, was shut down on June 3 by 300 police and military, reports Reporters Without Borders. This is a community radio station, with a broadcast range of only 25 kilometers whose signal reaches 10 communities. (...) This same kind of overwhelming force was used to silence opposition radio stations Radio Progreso, Radio Globo, Radio Coco, and TV station Cholusat Sur during the coup.

To anyone paying attention (x-ref Sven's comment to me, above) the US policy towards anything south of the Rio Grande has been appalling.  Democracy, Freedom, and Self Determination are fine as long as "they" elect the candidate the US picked to win, Freedom for US trans-nationals to steal anything they want, Self Determination to do what the US tells them to do.

Actually, my bad! The article does mention it and provide a link in one single sentence.  I missed it.

No harm, no foul. A link to a press release barely qualifies as a sign of recognition.
