Kauppalehti (in Finnish): Tuuliwatti ready to invest 400 m€ in industrial wind energy production

Paraphrase:

18-megawatt wind farm to be completed this year is a kick-start to Tuuliwatti's wind energy investments in the coming years.

The new wind farm represents an increase of about a tenth of Finland's current wind power capacity. It is a 30 million euro investment, and it produces electricity equivalent to 11 000 household needs.

- The next few years we are ready to invest in the construction of wind farms up to 400 million euros. If our plans are realized, we will at best produce up to one fifth of all Finnish wind power, "says CEO and TuuliWatti St1's renewable energy leader Jari Suominen.

By 2015, wind-watt goal is to build wind farms of about ten locations in different parts of Finnish.

In recent years, there were 130 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 197 megawatts. They produce about 0.3 percent of electricity consumed in Finland. Finland's climate and energy strategy has set a target of wind-generated electricity by 2020 to raise the six TWh. It requires a capacity increase of about 2 000 megawatts.
