But of course. But that is a statement of a very general nature. But for UKIP very few want to actually destroy the EU.

This crisis is about who is ready to pay how much. And what to do if that upper limit is breached.

You seem sanguine about the whole thing.

Tuesday's Eurogroup ended with no agreement after 12h of negotiations, and a Council Summit is starting as we speak. Let's survey the political battlefield in 48 hours...

If they find a solution this situation will repeat itself in a few months and so on. When the inevitable happens doesn't matter that much. The underlying problem isn't being solved.

Therefore, the crisis will come to a head. And then, what do you expect will happen?

A government in the countries facing additional austerity will face a revolt in parliament and fall. A bank run starts and capital controls are instituted. After that nobody knows.

I just hope that we can salvage sensible parts of the EU (freedom of residence, common market, Schengen regime, ...) when we bury the hubristic overextension. that is not certain, but a great majority loves them.

Say that happens to Greece. Then what will Germany do with its losses, and what will the Eurozone do with Greece?

More to the point, what will the Eurozone do with Germany?

The only option Germany is allowing is an uncontrolled default. What Germany does after somebody defaults on their debt to the German government is an open question.
